thanks for the great site it has helped me to keep in touch with a good few mates and also some new ones. I have jus one point would it be possible to ask everyone to add their date of joining and leaveing to their messages as i am sure that like me there are many people out there that miss out on contacts as people can place faces and names better if dates ar applied. Keep up the good work.. yours spud rudd E&F 63-66 st omer |

I'm looking for any members of the JTR 9th Intake -1961. Particularly, Chris Reagan and others. I've tried to contact Norm Larke without much succses.
I'd like to know how many of the Old 9th are still cooking.
I'd also like to contact Mick Judd who was in the Green Howards when I was with them in Minden. He apparently lives like me in Australia.

Hello Andy
George Drake here.I do not know if you remember me at all. I was one of those intrepid lads on 15 September 1961, who bedded down in Falaise Platoon. H3 with L/cpl Mick Boswell, J/Sgt Ken Weeks, and drill sgt Jock Keenan. I have tried to contact Norm Lark without success.I have heard nothing of the others, Butch Ramshall in particular. I left the service some time ago after serving with 38 ENG REGt RIPON. |

By way of a thank you to the Corps, my 3-year service from 1964-67 was, by any definition, the starting point of my chosen career as a professional chef.
Since moving to Canada in 1970 I have on many occasion presented to my students many exciting stories of my training and service experiences to which I am privileged to reflect upon the benefits I enjoy today, a direct result of my association with the Corps.
The names of those who helped shape my career in the Corps have since faded... The education officer in Penicuik who recognized my thirst for knowledge and personally tutured me to challenge a GCE that later in life led to attaining a Masters in Culinary Sciences; the Corporal in Penicuik who bullied me i the mess kitchen but I responded with a knockout punch in the gym. A contribution no less that taught me to redress a grievance in a control environment. And perhaps my greatest respect was for the Staff Sgt. who lived and retired in Mussleborough, Scotland. He taught me to give back everything I learn to others from those who took time to teach me.
I am sorry to hear of the assimilation of the Corps though understanding of the need to modernize and become an effective team of professionals.
Thank you ACC. Proud of what you did for me. |

I live in Canada now. I have not heard anything about bob Bloy, but Paul Lofthouse was a posty in Bradford last I heard. He was in the guestbook on here a long time ago. Send me an e-mail and I will send you some pictures of our time in Berlin. Remember the night accross the road at the community centre pub. Good times.
